COME UNDONE *

Do they have costume parties in Japan? I was trying to imagine what is costumey to them. Hmmm, what would the Harajuku girls wear to the costume party?
Last Saturday I went to my nephew's Halloween Party in school. I was so happy about how consumerism came out with so much nice costumes available in the market today. I saw Superwoman, Dinosaur, Alice in Wonderland, Zorro, etc. My nephew was a "bandit". It actually matches his personality cos he's really naughty sometimes. I was pretty excited about Halloween Parties myself but I think I never got the chance to go to one. It's an unspoken rule that I cannot go out on the 31st of October, bcos I have to be "ready" for November 1 which is really a family thing for us. It's one of those non-negotiable events you know. So each year, I think I plan of a costume but it never materialized. Last year, I wanted to be Betty Boop.
I was trying to figure out from what era Betty Boop came from. I read somewhere she was introduced in the 1930s. But she's too pin-up girl. Hmmm... what decade were the pin-up girls popularized? I forgot!!! The Betty Boop look is so easy, wear something like a sweetheart neckline red dress with fishnets(and the push-up bra no less), red pumps, gold hoops, flirty eyelashes and red lips. Inject some ME style with a heart shaped purse! I love it.

After seeing this little girl in an Alice in Wonderland costume, I wanted to be Alice! I love Alice bcos she has a bow and I looooovvveee bows. It goes with my hair too but of course I'm not blond. (Grrrr!) I have this puffed sleeved dress with an a-line silhouette. I could wear a white pinafore over the dress. Inject some ME style with striped knee high socks and black maryjane shoes. I have tons of bowed headbands which I could use.

Or I could be my lola - Betsey Johnson. Just pile on the accesories and the neon colors. I'm not really a pink person but we can make it work.
