WHEN KING JIM MEETS JORDI L *

I take unusually long periods staying in bookstores/music stores/home department all for the love of "usi". I love browsing shelves for things they sell. I love reading labels. I love hoarding stuff I don't need. This probably started when I was in lawschool. My perfect escape was National Bookstore and SM Dept Store. When my brain's bleeding from tons of cases and articles, I take a not so quick trip to NBS or to SM.

---

A year after, I still find comfort inside bookstores and department stores (no longer in SM since I'm just a few shops away from Landmark!). From NBS I've moved to Powerbooks since it's in the same floor as our shop. I love discovering cheap yet chic school supplies.

---

Since I'm a bookstore girl, it's no surprise that I love school supplies. A kid's ultimate nirvana is a trip to National Bookstore. Who isn't giddy with new crayons or new scissors? I still am happy buying kid's scissors in fun colors. So my recent discovery is the new King Jim notebooks. I've never been a fan since back then I was a Mead or local Corona girl. I didn't have printed notebooks since I was always after the kind of paper and how thick the lines were. (Yes I had those artista notebooks with Jolina on the cover, bcos I like being baduy!) King Jim just got better these days especially with their Jordi knockoffs. I swear, just one look you know it's a Jordi knockoff! Maybe they should do a collab instead. I'm all for collabs, maybe Team Manila for King Jim or any other Filipino illustrator (Rina Albert, bring in those watercolors). Bongga if it's Vivienne Westwood for King Jim if they can afford her. Haha. Seriously, KJ, do not copy it entirely bcos I've one JL with the same design you currently have in stock. Sayang! Think Lili & Nana designs made into notebooks, nicey nicey. Huwag lang kopya! Masyadong obvious.
